This was such a good series! I loved every bit of it! My only complaint is that we didn't get to see what happen to Javier! He still out there on the loose even though everyone who was working with him died. But I can't wait to read about Meek and Toya! Congratulations.l, for a great series! Keep the books coming!

This is my 1st read by this author and I read books 1-3 back to back. There were so many good reviews that I had to give it chance. I was thoroughly engaged from 1 book to the next. Ma Lai was hilarious. I laughed out loud at her antics constantly. I love Ari and Zelan’s relationship the most. They way they fell in love and held each other down was everything. Ci and Juelz had a dope relationship too but I felt like he really didn’t deserve her after he played her to the side for Kenya. I needed him to choose her because he wanted her above Kenya not because he got played. Although he said he realized his mistake who knows how things would’ve gone if Kenya wasn’t so foul. It took me awhile to get use to the writing style and the recaps at the beginning of each chapter but once I did it flowed well.

I enjoyed the love shown throughout the book within the families and the couples. Their Grandmother definetly was comic relief. I actually feel like there could have been a little more detail throughout the book as far as family history, especially with the girl's mother and the guys' dad. I also don't understand why Julez and Zelan didn't change their last name. I know if I found out someone that was not my father tried to kill me I would not keep their name. All and all I enjoyed this series. K.Renee I look forward to what you have in store for Meek and Toya, Hopefully we get to catch up with everybody else as well.

I'm so glad that you Juelz and Zelan didn't get injured in the shootout against Javier and I love that they found and linked up with Papa Santiago because he was the man. I love how Zelan proposed and took charge with planning him and Ari's wedding and honeymoon. Juelz love for Ciera was so sweet especially the way he proposed to her. I'm glad that Kari was biologically Juelz daughter. It's funny how Papa Santiago hooked up with Ma Laila and they're getting married too. I can't wait to see what happens next with Meek and Toya.

Great ending to a great series. Held my attention from beginning to end and I couldn't put it down....a page-turner. Still enjoyed the storyline and these characters. So glad that after everything that everyone endured, they all got their happy ending. Ma Lai, was still as hilarious as ever and I loved her character. So glad she found love with Papa Santiago and hopefully, we'll hear more from her in the future. Looking forward to Meek and Toya story. Job well done K. Renee.

As Postman notes: In the Victorian Era (mid-late 1800s), novelist Charles Dickens had as much fame as The Beatles in 1960, Michael Jackson in 1980, or Brad Pitt in 2014. The farm boy in the late 1700s carried a pamphlet of Thomas Paine's writings in his back pocket. Today, school-children carry iphones with pictures of Eminem (boy) or Taylor Swift (girl). In the mid-1800s, Abraham Lincoln and Stephan A. Douglas debated in public FOR HOURS on the dire issues of their time. Today, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have bite-sized debates where one side speaks for 1 minute and the other side gets a 30-second rebuttal..Clearly, the people then were different from the people now in terms of mainstream intelligence. While it leans towards pedantry on occasion (I do too often), he exposes the dangers in our insatiable demand for gratification, the faster the better. He could have written this book tomorrow, and now I'm even more depressed.

All that this book does is present an aha moment, something on the lines of ‘I knew it!’ Otherwise, any serious explorer of this topic should start with 1984 by George Orwell or Brave New World by Aldous Huxley instead of picking up this text.Finally, this book builds its arguments on examples with a little reference to research. It presents opinions derived from observation; observation of elections, religion, advertisement, schools and news. While a large portion of population may actually be affected by these examples, this book fails to talk about the valuable side of mass media. At best it presents half the picture, the picture that’s dark. Not to say that it’s wrong, a reader should exert caution and exhibit judgement in jumping to conclusions.

I bought this based on the positive reviews and I don’t understand what people are talking about. This coloring book is sub par and looks bootleg to me. It looks like the pages were printed on someone’s home printer and the images are inconsistent in line thickness and ink saturation. Would feel bad to give this as a Christmas gift so I’m returning. Do yourself a favor and just go to Michaels to pick up an authentic quality version that won’t make you look like a cheap ass.

This is a horrible book and 85% of pics are on pint rest.I swear out of the close to 20 something coloring books I've purchased from Amazon, this is the worst one. Looks like it was made in this person's basement and you would think they would atleast get pics that are not on pintrest. Or better yet STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE

Husband loved it as a Christmas gift! Some of the pictures are harder to color because you are not sure of what exactly is in the background. Overall would buy again!

It's not often that I buy books like this, but I will say that this is a very good purchase on my part. What I like the most about this book is that it's very informative. You can tell that the author did his homework on the leopard gecko and is the first that I've seen that actually drives the point home that captive bred doesn't mean healthy.If you're looking for a book that also has information on the African Fat Tails, no problem. It's in the same exact book in just as much detail as the sections about the leos. Overall, I give it a 5 star rating.

This book is so detailed and told me everything I needed to know. It was a little scientific and sometimes hard to understand, so if you're looking for something simple and short this is not your book. But it will be my reference for years to come as I buy my first gecko this year. I am especially excited about the prospect of breeding and all the detailed information on how to do so. Great book.

I'm buying a leopard gecko in a few months :), so I've been looking for info on the net.After reading some articles, I purchased this book.It has some nice pictures and basically everything you need to know, but it's too basic.I expected to find more about feeding, genetics...insted I just find a little information about what to feed and some gecko morphs pictures. It shows the existing morphs but doesn't say what gecko morphs you need to breed in order produce a determinated morph.Good to start, though. Now I'm buying the Herpetoculture of Leopard gecko, hope I find more info there.

If you're looking for a how to care for manual for you leopard gecko, I would not recommend this book. The bulk of this book is about breeding geckos. So, if breeding geckos is what you're doing then this book is probably for you, but other than that most of the other facts in this book can be found from browsing gecko sites on the internet. This book didn't tell me anything than what I had already read online.

Wasn't as indepth as it was portrayed. Information was very basic. I had already learned much more from Utube and internet for free.

Great book for young readers. Honestly, I usually dislike any type of biographies, but this was different. The photos and drawings not only broke up the text and made the reading more inviting, but they were quite interesting in their own right. The many facts, especially direct quotes, of Lincoln were intriguing and some funny. Slavery was a “monstrous injustice.” It was a “cancer” threatening to grow out of control “in a nation originally dedicated to the inalienable rights of man.” Lincoln agreed with others that he was rather homely referring once to his “poor, lean, lank face.” When a rival called him “two-faced” during a political debate, Lincoln replied: “I leave it to my audience If I had another face, do you think I’d wear this one?” Some of the letters included reveal a man of great penmanship and great words. What struck me most throughout the book was the ending. He seemed to be aware that he would die by assassination, and accepted such. “If I wore a shirt of mail, and kept myself surrounded by a bodyguard, it would be all the same. There are a thousand ways of getting at a man if it is desired that he should be killed.” And later he had a dream that he was wandering through the White House but no one was around until he reached the East Room, where a wake was held. When he asked “Who is dead in the White House?” the answer was “The President, he was killed by an assassin.” At that point he woke in his dream. In all, a fascinating look at an ordinary man who lived a more-than-ordinary life, devoting it to leading his loved country. “…I have no other so great (ambition) as that of being truly esteemed of my fellow men, by rendering myself worthy of their esteem.” This book reads more like an adventure than a biography, but contains everything one could hope to learn from a biography.

Great little book - good for elementary age (if you believe in old fashioned education) or Jr High age (if you believe in the dumbed-down public education model we live with today. Quick, easy read, and no "revised" or "rewritten" History in it. Seller is great and would do business with them again.

I bought this book for my son's 11th birthday. He's always been interested in President Lincoln because they have the same birthday (albeit different years!). This book was the last present he opened - after the gameboy, the new game, and several other books. The gameboy went on the table and the book came out. He read for nearly an hour, occasionally stopping to fill me in on tidbits from the book. The book is very interesting reading, even for adults, and is written in such a way to capture the reader's interest from the beginning. I would highly recommend it!

It does say Photobiography... :-\ but still whish it had more text content. Overal I would recommend the book and buy again as a gift for another in the future or for younger children 6 to older...if nothing else it has pictures. My son is using this book for another school project and enjoys the book very much. I have added a star.

This book is a favorite among students of all ages. I first used it in my Children's Literature classes, and the college students often chose this photobiography as their favorite of the semester reads. Recently, I read with fourth graders, and it again appears to be the best. The text is written well, and the photos are varied and rich. It is a win, win for all who purchase it and read the story of our American hero.

Very interesting about the life of Lincoln, and it's not too difficult to read. It gave me more knowledge about our 16th president.

I thought we would love this book, but it's really not appreciate for board-book loving toddlers. The best example I can share is that G is for gnat. I want my child to learn basic Bible stories and letter sounds. We'll save the silent G for other lessons :) "God" would've been a great choice! The illustrations are beautiful.

We have the DVD and long-version of The Biggest Story book. It's great there's a simpler board book version for our baby. The graphic design is phenomenal! I had very high hopes for this purchase.However, I would honestly not recommend this book because, from an early learning standpoint, this presentation of early ABC understanding is inappropriate for young children who can't read yet. The words chosen for each letter sometimes follow uncommon phonics rules or are words a young child wouldn't understand very well. That all may not matter to everyone, but ignore you're the type to consider how developmentally appropriate a book is, then this review is for you.

The illustrations are gorgeous - I just wish there was more about Jesus. Readers spend a lot of time with individual plagues (F-lies, G-nats, H-ail) from the story of Moses, but basically none about the life of Jesus - just his birth, death, and resurrection. The pages beyond the resurrection honestly feel like filler, too ("Jesus Wins! He is our eXample!) -- wish they'd been able to put more in about the teachings of Jesus. It's a beautiful book to have around, but not one we'll realistically use to teach from.

This is a fine book. I liked how it goes through the bible using the alphabet. My daughter loves saying the letters and then I can tell her something about the bible. I don't love the illustrations. Children are quite visual and in my opinion these illustrations don't capture the text, they are more symbolic and that is odd to me. Although my daughter reads it like her other books, I wouldn't recommend it or buy it for others for that reason.

This is an incredible children's book! As Christians, my wife and I desire to raise our two children to know and to love Jesus and to see the story of God's work of salvation from Genesis to Revelation. When I first read about this book, I was very interested because it seeks to do just that while using the letters of the alphabet. I am familiar with Kevin DeYoung and even got to hear him speak at a Desiring God Conference in Minnesota several years ago, so I felt like the presentation of the biblical story would be solid even though simplified for young readers. I was more than impressed with the book. First, the artwork is amazing, and my kids love it. Second, the story is very solid. It is really amazing that the entire story of salvation can be told in so short a space. Obviously, a lot of details have been left out, but what remains is the core of the entire biblical narrative. My wife and I have loved reading this book to our girls, and our girls love to look at by themselves throughout the day. This is really a fantastic way to start teaching the story of the Bible to children at a young age!

4 stars instead of 5 because when you get to the letter G it uses a silent G in gnat and when trying to teach toddlers the sounds of the letters that doesn't do it. Children need to be taught basic sounds before trying to explain why there is silent G when the word sounds like it starts with an N.

We started reading this to our toddler around 1 yo; she is 2 yo and still loves it. It introduces young children to the overarching narrative in scripture so that hopefully they have a timeline to place all the stories in as they grow. Beautiful engaging pictures in a fun alphabet setting that our daughter appreciates more and more as she gets older. This wouldn’t stand alone as a children’s Bible for an older toddler or child, but it’s an excellent supplement for them and perfect for the littles.

This is a precious little book for little ones to begin to grasp the concept of the story of Jesus. It is not your typical "a is for apple" kind of ABC book. Instead it uses the alphabet letters as sentence starters to tell the story of Jesus as He is reflected throughout the scriptures. It's very simple and understandable. Not to mention the pictures are so extraordinarily beautiful!! My little one loves to flip through the pages - and so do I!!

This is a wonderful trip down memory lane! As a huge fan of W.I.T.C.H., I was pleasantly surprised to see YenPress re-releasing this Disney Italian comic series to English readers after so many years! Each volume contains four of the original comic issues, summarizing the first saga into three neat re-released volumes! Fans of this series would be delighted. The series followed five girls with magical powers over the elements; Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin, creating the acronym W.I.T.C.H. The girls discovered they are the Guardians of the Veil, fighting to protect Earth from the evil creatures of Metamoor. At the same time, they must restore the rightful ruler of Metamoor back on the throne. With barely any guidance, the Guardians must learn to work together, control their powers, and who they can and can't trust. This Italian comic series isn't your typical magical-girl genre, but a blend of super-heroes, actions, romance, exciting and sometime dark adventures, with some of the most wonderfully created characters ever to hit the pages!I am very pleased to see that unlike the first English edition previously published by Hyperion, YenPress doesn't censor or alter some parts of the comic's panels, and quotes on the pin-up pages were not omitted. This is how W.I.T.C.H. should have been re-released all along. My only disappointment is the type of paper YenPress chose to print the pages. Unlike most comic books with colored pages, the pages in this volume isn't glossy. Other than this small nickpicking, I am thrilled to see my favorite childhood comic series comic back to life here in North America. I sincerely hoped that YenPress will re-release all of W.I.T.C.H.'s comic issues into volumes such as this for English speaking audiences to enjoy. Hyperion stopped halfway through the second story arc and the last English issue was officially translated in the Phillipines after the end of the six story arc. I do hope that YenPress will continue to re-release all of W.I.T.C.H.'s comic issues beyond the second story arc so that a new generation of fans can explore the magic and the wonder of this story, while satisfying the older fans.

I've been a fan of W.I.T.C.H. right around the time Disney was picking it up and launching it into a TV show, but this series went just as fast as it came. When I found out the comics are being re-released I knew I had to get them even though I have the Hyperion comic books as well as the chapter books. The thing with the older books is that Disney stopped the story-line for the chapter books after the battle with Nerissa while the comic books stopped halfway through that.The comparison:"Part 1: The Twelve Portals Volume 1" contains the same stories from the first four chapter books and the first two Hyperion comic books. The pages of the Hyperion comics are more glossy while the pages of this comic, although not glossy, they're still good quality pages making this book twice as thick as the Hyperion ones. I feel that the Hyperion comics offer a slight better translation with some images but they also kept it friendly. The biggest difference is that Hyperion censored some of the images as you can see in the pictures I've provided from the first comic story.

I've been a fan of WITCH since seeing the cartoon back in 2005 on Disney JETEX channel and even bought the paperbacks when they where in limited print back than too. I'm so happy to see that this amazing comic series is going back into print here in the USA and i recommend this to anyone who is a fan of fantasy and magical girl type genre. the art is great and the fight scenes come off well done for a kids comic. i cant wait to see more in the adventures of these girls!

My sisters and I were always interested in this and we had read a bit of it. I'm glad they're re-releasing the series so that I can finally read the whole thing. Cover and papers quality are so much better than regular comics. It's not plastic-like <--- which I hate.

The good: A beautiful re-release of a good series.The bad: That this series didn't get the love it deserved back in the day.My question: Will they re-release all of the original stories?Other than that love the book Buy Now.

Though the story idea is cute the plot line is very unorganized. I got confused with what was happening about midway through. The characters are cute but aren’t necessarily as strong as other female characters. But overall I did enjoy the story as it was refreshing from the other stories about witches that I’ve read that are very dark and depressing.

I purchased this book for my daughter for her birthday who wanted to start reading the series. She’s currently done with this book and On to book 2! She’s already obsessed with them!

A simple, quick, fun read.

Dont get me wrong, I appreciated the simple (not easy) advice the author presents. However for $15 I was expecting more. I found multiple grammatical and punctuation mistakes, as well as the typesetting misaligned on most pages. The text and cover look like the printing machine was running out of ink when it came off the press. Did this book go to a copy editor at all? It would have helped quite a bit.
